Asus Rilis Update ROG Ally, Jadi Bisa Atur TDP Saat Main Game

KOMPAS.com - Pabrikan teknologi Asus telah merilis pembaruan (update) untuk konsol genggam bikinannya, ROG Ally.

Update ROG Ally ini dirilis setelah pembaruan Desember 2023 yang menghadirkan kontrol giroskop, kurva respons controller, dan perbaikan celah kerusakan (bug).

Pembaruan dengan kode identifikasi Armoury Crate SE (ACSE) 1.4.10 ini mengoptimalkan perangkat Asus ROG Ally dalam dua aspek, yaitu performa dan kegunaan saat gaming.

Bicara soal performa, kini pengguna bisa mengatur Thermal Design Power (TDP) konsol secara spesifik ketika sedang bermain game. Hal ini dapat dilakukan secara cepat dengan menekan tombol shortcut Command Center, lalu membuka slider quick access TDP.

Saat dibuka, pengguna bisa melihat jendela pop-up yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk mengatur TDP secara spesifik, yakni Sustained Power Limit (SPL), Slow Package Power Tracking (SPPT), dan Fast Package Power Tracking Limit (FPPT).

Jika dibandingkan dengan mekanisme sebelumnya, pengguna yang ingin mengatur SPL, SPPT, dan FPPT harus membuka software bawaan ROG Ally Armoury Crate terlebih dahulu, kemudian mengatur ketiga opsi tersebut lewat menu "System Usage" dan "Operating Mode".

Sebagai informasi, TDP adalah daya maksimal CPU saat menjalankan aplikasi tanpa melampaui batas panasnya. Makin tinggi TDP, makin baik pula performa perangkat. Di saat yang bersamaan, temperatur dan konsumsi daya perangkat bakal menjadi lebih tinggi.

Berikutnya, SPL adalah konsumsi daya yang bisa dipertahankan CPU di bawah beban (workload) secara permanen. SPPT adalah batas boost dari CPU yang berlangsung beberapa menit, sedangkan FPPT merupakan batas burst singkat CPU yang berlangsung lima detik.

Pembaruan Gyro Enable

Selain slider TDP, Asus juga memperbarui Gyro Enable, yakni fitur yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk mengontrol kamera dalam game dengan menggerakkan controller.

Controller bisa menyimulasikan mouse komputer, sehingga mempermudah pengguna saat bermain game shooter dengan sudut pandang orang pertama (first person shooter/FPS).

Kini, fitur Gyro Enable bisa diaktifkan dengan sejumlah tombol di controller, sehingga gameplay menjadi lebih fleksibel. Sebagai contoh, pengguna bisa mengatur agar Gyro diaktifkan saat menekan tombol Right Trigger untuk membidik (aim).

Peningkatan lainnya mencakup opsi "Never show again" (Jangan pernah tampilkan lagi) untuk jendela pop-up iklan ROG Ally. Dengan demikian, pengguna bakal bisa memainkan konsolnya tanpa ada gangguan.

Lalu, Asus mengubah profil game (Game Profiles) yang baru dibuat. Profil game baru ini bakal memiliki mode operasi TDP (Operating Mode) Unassigned, alias belum memiliki mode operasi TDP.

Perubahan ini dilakukan guna mencegah konflik ketika pengguna mengganti keseluruhan Operating Mode perangkat lewat Command Center. Command Center merupakan akses cepat bagi pengguna yang ingin mengubah berbagai pengaturan konsol.

Terakhir, Asus mengonfirmasi bahwa fitur AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) masih berada dalam tahap pengujian akhir, sehingga belum siap diluncurkan lewat update ACSE 1.4.10.

Setelah dirilis, AFMF diperkirakan bakal meningkatkan performa visual game di ROG Ally secara signifikan, sebagaimana dikutip KompasTekno dari GizmoChina, Minggu (11/2/2024).

Pengguna yang ingin menikmati berbagai fitur baru Asus ROG Ally sudah bisa mengunduh update tersebut. Caranya, cukup aktifkan konsol ROG Ally dan pengguna pun bakal disambut oleh sebuah jendela pop-up.

Jendela ini bakal menginstruksikan pengguna untuk memperbarui versi ROG Ally. Ketuk tombol "Update Now" untuk melakukan update.
