The Grassland Cave (Japanese: 草原の空洞 Grassland Hollow) is a type of hideaway seen in the Grand Underground. It can only be accessed after the player obtains the Explorer Kit in Eterna City from the Underground Man, and features Pokémon that roam the cave freely, instead of being found in tall grass.
Geography
Grassland Caves are small forest-like areas, with a few rocks peppered about the ground. Many trees and fallen logs are larger than the player, and must be navigated around.

With each additional badge earned by the player, the levels of wild Pokémon are increased.

Visible Encounters
After the player fulfills a particular objective during their adventure, another group of Pokémon are added to the pool of possible encounters. It shares this encounter table with the Sunlit Cavern. The spawn rates for certain types are influenced by the active "Statue Effect" applied by a player's Secret Base Statues.
Rare Spawns
Rare Spawns run concurrently to the existing encounter table, and use independent percentages for their rates.
