The new Jake Gyllenhaal film has been postponed until April 2022. This means it will hit the big screen the weekend before Easter. Ambulance will go up against Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in cinemas

There is currently no word on why the studio made this move. It could be because Ambulance was set to compete in cinemas with the Uncharted adaptation starring Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas.

Michael Bay’s New Action Film Stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II And Eiza Gonzalez

The film tells the story of two robbers who steal an ambulance after their heist goes wrong and the EMT who gets roped into the explosive situation.

Bay’s film is based on a 2005 Danish thriller of the same name by Laurits Munch-Petersen and Lars Andreas Pedersen. Universal debuted the trailer at CinemaCon back in August. The stylish video shows Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen racing through downtown Los Angeles in a high-speed getaway.

If it is anything like Bay’s previous work (which includes Bad Boys, Armageddon and the Transformers franchise), expect an action-packed movie filled with car chases, explosions and stunt-heavy scenes. A recent Instagram post from Bay, filmed during the film’s production, shows a big, fiery car crash.
