Rachel Zegler not Hispanic enough to play Maria

the issue should be that Zegler has no connection to Puerto Rico, not that she isn't "hispanic" enough, whatever that means - and it should only be an issue because the people involved in the making of the new WSS made it their no.1 talking point while promoting the film - It's funny to me that, for all their posturing, the Rachel Zegler/Ariana DeBose casting seems a rehash of the Natalie Wood/Rita Moreno casting.

She's half Columbian half polish. So no, not Puerto Rican but not devoid of any ties to Latin culture either. I know the anonymous voter is claiming that they are offended that she's not Puerto Rican but I do wonder if they are one of those old school industry/ critic types who get pissy when they see female leads that aren't of northern European descent.
