Not liking rap music is racist? Since when? Likely posted by a 'woke' white person!
The 'woke' whites on this website always sound so clueless when discussing racial issues. I almost feel bad for their stupidity. I can only imagine where some of you grew up, likely not in any kind of mixed or urban community.
I assume most of the white men on this site grew up middle class and upper middle class, yet, here you are telling other white folks how they should perceive certain racial issues and what kind of music they should find acceptable? Give it a rest.
How about the fact that not all Black people automatically enjoy rap music? I'm biracial, I grew up in a mixed community in Brooklyn. I have working musicians in my family, because of that, I was exposed to all kinds of music during my entire life. Not just Rap and Hip-Hop, what a fucking stereotype, all Black people don't only listen to 'Black' music and certainly not only Rap. .
Personally, as far as Rap, I prefer old-school rap, Run DMC, NWA, Beastie Boys, Queen Latifa, Body Count (yes, I know they were rock/rap), Wu-Tang Clan, Mos Def and many of the original rappers who actually sounded much different from today's rappers. Today's rappers all seem to sound the same (the ridiculous Migos) and some of today's rappers are more into their ridiculous image than producing original music. Cardi B is a great example of this. Her rapping isn't so great and his stripper image is ridiculous. I won't even get into her sounding illiterate during interviews.
Lots of Black people also enjoy listening to old school jazz (Miles Daeis etc), R'n'B, avant -garde jazz artists such as the aforementioned Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, Pharoah Sanders and Don Cherry. Imagine, some Black people even enjoy hard rock while others like Abba and MOR music! But the white people at DL keeping putting individuals into a box. DL is always categorizing something and that includes Black people.
'Black music' is not defined solely by Rap and Hip-Hop. White men of DL, get a fucking clue!
