Susan Kight Obituary, Death Cause – Susan Padgett Kight, a beloved member of the community, passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 58, at Aiken Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life is scheduled to take place at Dyches Funeral Home Chapel in Barnwell, SC, on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with Jessica Kight officiating. Born in Hampton, SC, Susan was the daughter of Vince and Bobbie Padgett. A proud graduate of Barnwell High School, Class of 1983,
Susan furthered her education at the University of South Carolina, earning a nursing degree. With a passion for caring for others, she dedicated 16 years of her life to Chem Nuclear and was currently employed at the Dorn Veteran Hospital in Columbia, SC. Susan’s love extended beyond her profession to her family, including her cherished daughter. She took great joy in watching her daughter participate in softball and volleyball. Additionally, Susan had a special place in her heart for her German Shepherd, “Kainen.”
Known for her warmth and kindness, Susan was a loving wife, mother, and daughter. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many who were fortunate enough to know her. The Celebration of Life on January 12 will provide an opportunity for friends and family to come together to remember and honor the beautiful life of Susan Padgett Kight.
