Cinderella was one of my childhood favorites but I'm not sure how well it's aged for me. Nowadays I want just the tiniest bit more of the love story; the prince is barely a character at all, and instead there's a little bit too much of the singing animals. The Emperor's New Groove, on the other hand, is hilarious and has grown on me over time. It wins, especially on account of Kronk and Yzma.

Disagree. It may be nostalgia, but Kuzko and friends are no match for Cinderella. I can't get enough of the mice and birds and the prince being two-dimensional never bothered me. I always felt Cinderella herself was enough to carry the entire movie. I do agree though that The Emperor's New Groove is more accessible for the average adult, but I think that Cinderella is ageless in its own way.

I guess I just don't see any real narrative reason for the prince to be upstaged by his own father and his crony the duke. I'm not suggesting he be made a major presence in the movie, but a couple more scenes would be nice. It's still a charming film, and in my top 250.

Cinderella is probably the most winning of the Disney princesses before the Disney renaissance; I certainly prefer her to Snow White and Briar Rose/Aurora.

I agree with you there. Any time a principal character is underwritten it's a missed opportunity. And yes, Cinderella is the best written of the original three Disney princesses. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a better movie overall and Sleeping Beauty has more striking visuals, but Cinderella has the biggest personality.

Cinderella is way better, Emperor´s New Groove is one of the worst Disney movies ever.

Cinderella just wreaks of Disney magic. It's a classic, Emperor's is not.

I feel like Cinderella had good musicals but it's not as entertaining. In other words, I admit Cinderella's the better movie but I'd rather watch Emperor any day. So I choose Emperor.
